NIKKI!

There was no surer way to put a dampener on Danie’s aroused emotions than the mention of Jonas’s sister’s name. An actual telephone call from her had the effect, as far as Danie was concerned, of finishing their evening together completely!

After making her excuses to Jonas, Danie walked steadily towards the kitchen, knowing that he continued to watch her every move even as he carried on the conversation with his sister. It was a conversation Danie did her best not to listen to; the less she knew about Nikki Trainer, the better it would be for all of them!

She leant shakily back against one of the kitchen units once the door had closed behind her, groaning into her hands as she realised exactly what Nikki would have been interrupting if that call had come even five minutes later than it had. As it was, it was going to be difficult to face Jonas again after the intimacies they had just shared.

Seconds ago she had been almost completely naked—while Jonas had remained fully clothed!

She loved the man!

Danie knew it as certainly as she knew she would draw her next breath. But Nikki Trainer’s telephone call had been a timely reminder that her love for Jonas was at best a risk, and at worst a disaster. She—

‘Sorry about that,’ Jonas apologised as he joined her in the kitchen, his movements tense. ‘That was my sister,’ he explained unnecessarily.
